Enlisted 1 July 1916 in Rarotonga. Disembarked SS Malwa at Suez 16 November 1916 and posted to the Rarotongan Company 22 January 1917. Admitted to various hospitals at Jaffa, Gaza, Abbassia, Heliopolis and Ismailia and discharged to duty 20 October 1918. Embarked for New Zealand on SS Malta 14 December 1914 and discharged 20 March 1919.
