Additional information

Enlisted at Narrow Neck Military Training Camp 26 October 1915. He was employed as a Police Officer at Niue on behalf of the New Zealand Government and assisted to train the Niuean Contingent. Had previous experience in Imperial Forces and Legion of Frontiersmen. Was appointed Company Sergeant Major of the Niuean and Rarotongan Company. Disembarked from SS Navua at Suez 15 March 1916 and embarked at Alexandria for Marseille 20 May 1916. Then embarked and departed United Kingdom 14 July 1916. Returned to duty at Narrow Neck Military Training Camp 25 September 1916 when he embarked at Auckland on 14 October 1916 with the 9th Maori Reinforcements and 18th Reinforcements to disembark at Plymouth, United Kingdom 29 December 1916. Posted as the Regimental Sergeant Major of the New Zealand Command Depot, Codford, United Kingdom on 18 January 1917 but was invalided to New Zealand on 10 March 1917 on SS Remuera ex Plymouth and was discharged 5 June 1917.
