Enlisted into the 2nd Rarotongan Contingent 1 July 1916 at Rarotonga and discharged for medical reasons after 94 days of service. Re-enlisted 2 March 1918 into the 3rd Rarotongan Contingent. Disembarked ex. SS Port Lyttleton at Suez 4 August 1918. Was in a detachment of the Rarotongan Company in Beirut at the end of the war in November 1918. Embarked for NZ on SS Malta 14 December 1918 and discharged 20 March 1919.
