Enlisted 1 July 1916 and posted to the Rarotongan Company 7 April 1917. Admitted to 66th Casualty Clearing Station 19 August 1917 with a corneal ulcer and then to 24th Stationary Hospital, Kantara 23 August 1917 before being transferred to 27th General Hospital 25 August 1917. Rejoined his company 14 September 1918. Admitted to 128th Combined Field Hospital with diarrhoea between 10 June 1918 and 13 June 1918. Embarked on SS Malta 14 December 1918 and discharged in 20 March 1919.
Rank is listed as Lance Corporal on Cook Islands Roll of Honour board at the RSA Nikao Rarotonga, however his rank was Corporal on discharge.
