Enlisted 27 September 1915 in Rarotonga. Disembarked at Suez 15 March 1916 and embarked for France from Port Said 9 April 1916. Admitted to the 7th General Hospital, St. Omar from 28 June 1916 to 9 July 1916 with measles. Accidentally injured his right hand when handling railway lines on 27 March 1917. Admitted to 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station 27 March 1917 and 3rd Canadian General Hospital, Boulogne 29 March 1917. Transferred to UK by hospital ship and admitted to the 2nd New Zealand General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames 30 March 1917 to 30 April 1917 before being transferred to the New Zealand Convalescent Hospital at Hornchurch between 30 April 1917 and 4 June 1917. Transferred to the New Zealand Depot at Codford and admitted to the 3rd New Zealand General Hospital, Codford between 19 June 1917 and 23 July 1917. Transferred to the New Zealand Discharge Depot, Torquay 24 August 1917 before embarking on SS Ruahine at Liverpool for New Zealand. Discharged with 50% pension for three months 3 February 1918.
We have not located the resting place of this soldier who we believe was buried in Nikao/Panama area in Rarotonga.
